Wedding, wedding, wedding!

Wow, look at the timer countdown to the right, it’s ticking down! I am very excited to get married!

Being apart from someone you love is very difficult. Those of you who have someone by your side every day are very fortunate. Don’t take that for granted. I know that after my experience of a long-distance relationship, I know I won’t.

In a very short time, no more lonely nights without my Eve! Yay!! Pray for us as we continue to plan and prepare.

Black Sock Blessing

A great start to this resurrection morning:

My outfit was all planned out. My moderate, yet pinstriped suit with a gray shirt and NICE silk tie was all laid out and ready to put on. I took my shower with plenty of time left until time to leave. I get out of the shower and dawn my duds. I get my shoes and start the normal search through the piles for some socks. This quickly turned into a frantic dismantling of everything in my room as plenty of time left turned into no time left quickly.

Finally, I was forced to result to pilfering some from my brother. I went into his room and opened a drawer. I assumed I opened the wrong drawer and went speedily to another. No luck. Again and again I opened drawers and found no socks. What is the deal?

I searched and searched and searched to no avail. I thought I was going to have to abandon my amazing outfit and go with another (already five minutes late for rehearsal) but my fortune changed as I happened upon a pair of my dad’s black socks in his room. I flung the socks on, grabbed all of my stuff, and flew for the door only to run smack dab into my parents and brothers as they were returning from their church service. I quickly explained my ordeal and bolted out the door.

I arrived at church 15 minutes late for rehearsal, but as it turns out, no one else was there for rehearsal but myself. God’s blessings come in the weirdest ways sometimes. I was very thankful for this black sock blessing.
